Saboot Privacy Policy
In short: Saboot has no account, no server, no analytics and no ads. Everything you record or add stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud Drive. We never see it.
What Saboot stores, and where
- Your cases and evidence: notes, voice recordings, transcripts, photos, videos, screenshots, documents and emails you add. They are saved as ordinary files in the app's folder in your iCloud Drive (shown in the Files app as iCloud Drive › Saboot), or only on the iPhone if iCloud Drive is off.
- Photos you take or pick stay in your Photos library; Saboot keeps a link to them, not a copy, unless you deny Photos access.
- Backups are zip files written to the same iCloud Drive folder.
- Settings (for example the app lock and backup time) are stored on the device.
iCloud storage is provided by Apple under your Apple ID and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it.
What we collect
Nothing. Saboot does not send your data to us or to anyone else. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code, and it does not use your data to track you across apps or websites.
On-device processing
- Transcription of voice notes uses Apple's speech recognition, set to run on the iPhone only. If a language model is missing, iOS may offer to download it from Apple; your audio is not sent.
- Text recognition in screenshots and scans (dates, ticket numbers, amounts) runs on the iPhone with Apple's Vision framework.
Permissions
Saboot asks for the microphone (voice notes), speech recognition (transcripts), camera (photos and video), Photos (saving and linking pictures), Face ID (optional app lock) and notifications (follow-up reminders). Each is used only for that purpose, and you can turn any of them off in Settings › Saboot.
Purchases
Saboot Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we receive no payment or personal details, only Apple's confirmation that Pro is unlocked.
Sharing and exports
Saboot shares data only when you do, for example when you export a case as PDF or ZIP and send it with the share sheet. Where it goes then is up to you.
Deleting your data
Delete a case or item in the app (it goes to Trash, which empties after 30 days, or empty it yourself). To remove everything, delete the app and then delete the Saboot folder in iCloud Drive (Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage › Saboot).
Children
Saboot is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because we collect nothing, a change cannot expose data we already hold.
